Case study – AB
Amsterdam Beautiful decided to launch its Zero Carbon project in 2013 and hired Eicia Consulting to conduct the project.
The goal of the project was to set up the framework for the company to calculate its carbon footprint and reduce its carbon emissions according to its 2013 baseline.
The analysis we performed covered the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions arising from all the relevant operational activities of Amsterdam Beautiful for the year 2013, calculated according to the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) Greenhouse Gas (GHG) protocol methodology.
Amsterdam Beautiful carbon footprint for 2013 is 1,3 tonnes of CO2e. This score represents a very low footprint.
Amsterdam Beautiful is now following the standard carbon footprint reduction process and aims at becoming carbon neutral by 2020. This result could be reached in 2014 already if the company decides to offset the emissions from scope 1.
